Amazon CloudWatch RUM has introduced resource-based policy support for data ingestion access, providing enhanced control and flexibility for web application performance monitoring.
- Allows specifying which IAM principals can ingest data to RUM app monitors
- Eliminates need for Amazon Cognito and AWS STS for obtaining security credentials
- Supports high-volume data ingestion without Cognito's quota limits
- Enables public resource policies allowing unauthenticated users to send data
- Supports blocking specific IPs using AWS Global context keys
- Can be configured through AWS console or AWS CloudFormation
The feature is available in all CloudWatch RUM regions at no additional cost, providing more flexible and efficient monitoring capabilities.
