AWS Marketplace now supports Japan Marketplace Facilitator Rule

AWS Marketplace has introduced support for the Japan Marketplace Facilitator (MPF) rule, simplifying tax compliance for sellers and customers in Japan.
- AWS Marketplace will collect the 10% Japan consumption tax (JCT) for non-Japan and Japan-addressed sellers
- AWS will issue tax qualified invoices (TQI) to customers in Japan
- Non-Japan sellers: AWS Japan will collect JCT, issue TQI, and remit taxes to authorities
- Japan-addressed sellers: AWS Japan will collect JCT and disburse to sellers while issuing TQI
- Feature available for all sellers transacting via AWS Japan Marketplace Operator
The new rule reduces administrative burden for sellers and provides a streamlined tax experience for Japanese customers.
