AWS has announced new pricing updates for AWS Elemental MediaTailor, focusing on more cost-effective ad insertion for video-on-demand (VOD) content:

  • Introduced VOD ad insertion at 50% lower cost compared to live streaming
  • Simplified pricing model with a single tier of $0.50 per 1,000 live ad insertions
  • VOD ad insertions now priced at $0.25 per 1,000 insertions
  • New pricing applies across all volume levels
  • Additional discounts available for customers committing to over 60 million monthly ad insertions

These changes aim to help streaming providers more cost-effectively monetize their VOD content and simplify billing predictability.
