Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports M6id and R6id database instances, offering enhanced performance for database workloads.

  • Provides up to 7.6 TB of NVMe-based local storage
  • Allows placement of temporary tablespaces in local storage
  • Reduces latency and improves throughput for database operations
  • Supports Database Smart Flash Cache for Oracle Enterprise Edition
  • Can be launched via RDS Management Console or AWS CLI

These new instances are particularly beneficial for database workloads that require handling large amounts of intermediate data beyond memory capacity.
