Amazon EventBridge now supports Customer Managed Keys (CMK) in API destinations connections, providing enhanced security for authentication credentials.

  • Allows encryption of HTTPS endpoint authentication credentials using user-defined KMS keys
  • Replaces default AWS-owned key encryption with customer-controlled encryption
  • Provides more granular security control over authentication credentials
  • Supports both private and public HTTPS endpoint connections
  • Enables key usage tracking and auditing through CloudTrail
  • Available across all AWS Regions with EventBridge API destinations

This feature gives organizations greater control and flexibility in managing the security of their API destination authentication credentials.
