Amazon MemoryDB now supports Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), providing enhanced networking capabilities for customers:

  • Clusters can now accept IPv6-only or dual-stack (IPv4 and IPv6) connections
  • Helps address IPv4 address depletion by offering a larger address space
  • Enables customers to meet IPv6 compliance requirements
  • Supports Valkey 7+ and Redis OSS 6.2+ versions
  • Available in all AWS global regions at no additional cost

This update allows customers to future-proof their infrastructure, simplify network architecture, and maintain compatibility with existing IPv4 systems.
