Amazon DynamoDB now supports Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), offering customers a more flexible networking option for their database connections.

  • Enables IPv6 addressing in Amazon VPC when connecting to DynamoDB tables, streams, and DAX
  • Compatible with AWS PrivateLink Gateway and Interface endpoints
  • Helps address IPv4 address exhaustion by providing a larger address space
  • Simplifies network management by eliminating overlapping address spaces
  • Currently available in US commercial and GovCloud regions, with global rollout planned

This update allows customers to modernize their network infrastructure and meet compliance requirements with easier IPv6 adoption.
