Amazon DocumentDB now supports Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6)

Amazon DocumentDB has expanded its support to include Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) addresses for new and existing database clusters.

  • Enables customers to run databases on dual-stack networks supporting both IPv4 and IPv6
  • Increases available network addresses and eliminates IPv4 address space management challenges
  • Supports migration to dual-stack mode through AWS Management Console or AWS CLI
  • Generally available on DocumentDB versions 4.0 and 5.0
  • Supports scaling document workloads without managing infrastructure

This update allows customers to simplify network configurations and modernize their database networking approach using IPv6.
