Amazon SQS now supports Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) for API requests, enabling more flexible networking options for customers.

  • Supports IPv6, IPv4, and dual stack clients using public endpoints
  • Provides expanded address space to eliminate address exhaustion concerns
  • Allows gradual transition from IPv4 to IPv6 systems
  • Available in all AWS commercial Regions, including AWS China Regions
  • No additional cost for the feature

This enhancement simplifies network architecture for cloud-native applications and supports organizations modernizing their infrastructure by adopting IPv6.
