Amazon SNS now supports Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6)

Amazon SNS has added support for Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) across its public endpoints, offering enhanced networking capabilities for customers.

  • Enables communication using IPv6, IPv4, or dual stack clients
  • Provides a larger address space to eliminate address exhaustion concerns
  • Allows gradual transition from IPv4 to IPv6-based systems
  • Supports modern cloud-native applications and network modernization
  • Available in all AWS commercial regions at no additional cost

This update enables more flexible and future-proof networking for distributed systems, microservices, and serverless applications using Amazon SNS.
