Export and visualize carbon emissions data from your AWS accounts

Cloud Financial Management Blog

AWS has introduced a new feature to export and visualize carbon emissions data from AWS accounts using AWS Data Exports and Cloud Intelligence Dashboards. The key highlights include:

  • Automatic monthly export of carbon emissions data to Amazon S3
  • Ability to track emissions across multiple AWS organizations
  • Integration with services like AWS Glue, Amazon Athena, and Amazon QuickSight
  • Two configuration options: manual console setup or Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Sustainability proxy metrics dashboard for visualization

The feature allows organizations to gain insights into their cloud carbon footprint, track emissions by account, region, and service, and make informed sustainability decisions.
