Amazon Aurora DSQL is now generally available

AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon Aurora DSQL, a serverless distributed SQL database with advanced features:

  • Offers 99.99% single-Region and 99.999% multi-Region availability
  • Provides multi-Region strong consistency for reads and writes
  • Enables independent scaling of reads, writes, compute, and storage
  • Supports AWS Backup, AWS PrivateLink, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, and KMS
  • Includes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for AI applications

Aurora DSQL is available in multiple regions across the US, Asia Pacific, and Europe, and can be started for free using the AWS Free Tier.
