Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP now supports write-back mode for ONTAP FlexCache volumes

Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP has introduced write-back mode for ONTAP FlexCache volumes, enhancing performance for distributed write-intensive workloads.

• Previously, FlexCache only supported write-around mode with higher write latency
• Write-back mode caches writes locally on FlexCache volumes and updates origin volumes asynchronously
• Improves performance for applications like collaborative content creation, distributed databases, and engineering workflows
• Supports operations across multiple AWS Regions and between cloud and on-premises environments
• Available at no additional cost in all AWS Regions where FSx for ONTAP is offered

This enhancement allows faster and more efficient data access for distributed computing environments.
