Amazon RDS for DB2 now supports cross region standby replicas

Amazon RDS for DB2 has introduced cross-region standby replicas, a new disaster recovery feature designed to minimize database downtime.
- Allows customers to configure standby replicas in different AWS regions
- Supports up to three standby replicas per database instance
- Asynchronously replicates changes from primary to standby instances
- Enables quick promotion of standby replica to primary during outages
- Requires commercial database licenses for only two vCPUs per replica
- Supports both Bring Your Own License (BYOL) and Marketplace licensing models
This feature provides enhanced database resilience and business continuity by enabling rapid failover across different AWS regions.
