Amazon VPC raises default Route Table capacity

News

AWS has increased the default route table capacity in Amazon VPC from 50 to 500 routes per route table.

  • Previously, customers had to request a limit increase for more than 50 routes
  • The enhancement helps organizations maintain precise control over VPC traffic flows
  • Enables easier routing to firewalls, network functions, peering connections, and gateways
  • Automatically applied to all commercial and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions
  • Applies to both existing and new VPCs without existing quota overrides

This change reduces administrative overhead and allows customers to more easily scale their network architecture.
