AWS News Blog

AWS Certificate Manager (ACM) now allows exportable public SSL/TLS certificates that can be used outside of AWS services.

  • Users can export public certificates and access private keys for use on EC2, containers, and on-premises hosts
  • Certificates are valid for 395 days and issued by Amazon Trust Services
  • Requires selecting "Enable export" during certificate request
  • Can be exported using AWS Console or AWS CLI
  • Requires domain validation and passphrase for private key encryption

Pricing is $15 per fully qualified domain name and $149 for wildcard domains, with charges at issuance and renewal. Administrators can manage certificate access through IAM policies.
