Amazon FSx for OpenZFS now supports direct Amazon S3 access without data movement, enabling organizations to leverage their file data across AWS services more efficiently.

  • Allows attaching S3 Access Points to FSx for OpenZFS file systems
  • Enables accessing file data using S3 API operations like GetObject, PutObject, and ListObjectsV2
  • Supports using data with AI, ML, and analytics services without copying files
  • Maintains existing NFS file protocol access
  • Provides granular access controls through IAM permissions
  • Available in multiple AWS regions with performance in tens of milliseconds

The feature eliminates data movement requirements, allowing seamless integration of file data with AWS services while keeping the original file system intact.
