AWS Private CA now supports issuing up to 100 million certificates per CA

News

AWS Private Certificate Authority (AWS Private CA) has increased its certificate issuance limit from 1 million to 100 million per certificate authority (CA).

  • New 100 million certificate limit applies to CAs with partitioned CRL/OCSP configuration
  • CAs with complete CRL remain limited to 1 million certificates
  • Users can switch to partitioned CRL to increase certificate limit
  • Service supports creating private CAs for internal authentication
  • Certificates secured by FIPS 140-3 Level 3 hardware security modules

The increased limit allows organizations to manage fewer CAs while maintaining security and flexibility in their public key infrastructure.
