Simplify AWS Organization Tag Policies using new wildcard statement
News
AWS Organizations Tag Policies now supports a wildcard statement (ALL_SUPPORTED) that simplifies policy authoring and reduces policy complexity.
- Allows specifying tag policies for all supported resource types in a single line
- Previously required listing each resource type individually (e.g., EC2 instances, volumes, snapshots)
- Enables proactive compliance and governance across AWS accounts
- Can enforce consistent tagging rules, such as defining allowed tag values
- Available through AWS Management Console, CLI, and SDK
This feature makes tag policy management more efficient by reducing the need to manually specify each resource type when creating organizational tagging standards.
