Amazon Redshift Serverless Now Supports 2-AZ Subnet Configurations

Amazon Redshift Serverless has updated its subnet configuration requirements, now supporting 2-AZ configurations when Enhanced VPC Routing (EVR) is not used.

  • Previously required 3 Availability Zones (AZs) for workgroup setup
  • Now allows configuration with just 2 AZs in Amazon VPC subnet network
  • Change applies to all RPU sizes (4 to 1024 RPUs)
  • Reduces operational overhead for customers
  • Available in all commercial AWS regions with Redshift Serverless

The update simplifies the setup process for Amazon Redshift Serverless, making it easier for customers to configure their database environments.
