AWS has released Mountpoint for Amazon S3 CSI driver version 2 with significant performance and functionality improvements:
- Introduces data caching across multiple pods, enabling up to 2x faster large-scale job completion
- Adds support for SELinux-enabled environments like Red Hat OpenShift
- Enables Amazon EKS Pod Identity for simplified access policy management
- Improves log access and mount insights using kubectl
Users can upgrade through Amazon EKS console, AWS CLI, EKS API, and AWS CloudFormation, with detailed installation guidance available on GitHub.
