OpenAI open weight models now available on AWS

AWS has announced the availability of two new OpenAI open weight models in Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker JumpStart:
- Models named gpt-oss-120b and gpt-oss-20b designed for text generation and reasoning
- Support 128K context window and adjustable reasoning levels
- Excel at coding, scientific analysis, and mathematical reasoning
- Available in US West (Oregon) region for Bedrock and US East regions for SageMaker JumpStart
- Can be used with OpenAI SDK, Bedrock APIs, and various AI agent frameworks
The models provide developers complete control over infrastructure and data, with built-in security, safety measures, and the ability to customize for specific use cases.
