Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL has released support for new minor versions of PostgreSQL, including versions 17.6, 16.10, 15.14, 14.19, and 13.22.

  • Recommended upgrade to fix security vulnerabilities and benefit from community bug fixes
  • Updates include PostgreSQL extensions like pg_repack 1.5.2, oracle_fdw 2.8.0, and pgactive 2.1.5
  • Supports automatic minor version upgrades during maintenance windows
  • Allows use of Amazon RDS Blue/Green deployments for version upgrades
  • Simplifies PostgreSQL database management in the cloud

Users can update their database instances through the Amazon RDS Management Console, taking advantage of the latest PostgreSQL improvements.
