AWS has announced the general availability of new memory-optimized Amazon EC2 R8i and R8i-flex instances powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors.
- Offer up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth than previous generations
- 20% better performance than R7i instances, with significant gains for specific workloads
- Up to 30% faster for PostgreSQL, 60% faster for NGINX, and 40% faster for AI deep learning models
- R8i-flex provides flexible sizing for memory-intensive workloads
- R8i instances include 13 sizes, including 96xlarge and 2 bare metal options
- SAP-certified with 142,100 aSAPS, highest among comparable machines
Available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Spain) regions.
