AWS has announced the general availability of new compute-optimized Amazon EC2 C8i and C8i-flex instances powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors.
- Offer up to 15% better price-performance compared to previous generation
- Provide 2.5 times more memory bandwidth than C7i instances
- Up to 60% faster for NGINX web applications
- Up to 40% faster for AI deep learning recommendation models
- Available in US East, US West, and Europe (Spain) regions
- Ideal for compute-intensive workloads like web servers, caching, and HPC
C8i-flex instances are a lower-cost variant offering 5% better price performance and can reach full CPU performance 95% of the time.
