Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports Redo Transport Compression

Amazon RDS for Oracle has introduced Redo Transport Compression, a new feature that enhances database performance and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Compresses redo data before transmission to standby databases
- Reduces network traffic and improves redo transport performance
- Enables lower Recovery Point Objective (RPO)
- Available for mounted and read replicas
- Requires Oracle Enterprise Edition with Advanced Compression Licensing
Customers should consider CPU resource availability when enabling this feature, as compression and decompression consume additional processing power. The feature is now available in all AWS Regions that support Amazon RDS for Oracle.
