Amazon RDS for Oracle now supports bare metal instances, offering several key benefits:

  • 25% lower pricing compared to equivalent virtualized instances
  • Supports multiple bare metal instance types including M7i, R7i, X2iedn, and others
  • Enables database consolidation using Multi-tenant feature
  • Potential reduction in commercial database license and support costs
  • Available with Bring Your Own License (BYOL) for Oracle Enterprise Edition

The new offering provides more flexibility and cost-effectiveness for Oracle database deployments on Amazon RDS, with full visibility into underlying server hardware.
