AWS RDS Data API now supports IPv6, enabling dual-stack network connectivity for Aurora databases across most commercial AWS regions.
- Introduces IPv6 support for expanded address space and network scalability
- Allows assignment of contiguous IP ranges to microservices
- Enables gradual transition from IPv4 to IPv6 networks
- Available in all commercial AWS regions except Canada (Central)
- Continues to offer automatic database connection pooling and sharing
This update provides enhanced network flexibility and scalability for Aurora database users, supporting more efficient and future-proof networking configurations.
