Amazon RDS has expanded IPv6 support to publicly accessible databases, enabling dual-stack (IPv4 and IPv6) connectivity for RDS and Aurora databases.

  • Allows configuration of databases with both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
  • Provides expanded address space for application scaling
  • Enables easier management of IP ranges for microservices
  • Supports gradual transition from IPv4 to IPv6
