Amazon has released PostgreSQL version 16.9 for Aurora PostgreSQL Limitless Database, featuring several key improvements:
- Added support for hstore and auto_explain extensions
- Includes PostgreSQL community bug fixes and performance enhancements
- Provides serverless endpoint that automatically distributes data and queries across multiple Aurora instances
- Automatically scales compute resources based on workload demand
- Maintains transactional consistency across distributed databases
The service is now available in multiple AWS regions across North America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and South America, offering flexible and scalable database management for enterprises.
