AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon EC2 R8gn instances, powered by AWS Graviton4 processors with significant performance and networking improvements.
- Up to 30% better compute performance compared to Graviton3 processors
- Highest network bandwidth among network optimized EC2 instances at 600 Gbps
- Supports instance sizes up to 48xlarge with up to 1,536 GiB of memory
- Ideal for network-intensive workloads like SQL and NoSQL databases
- Supports Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) networking on select sizes
- Currently available in US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) regions
These new instances offer enhanced performance and networking capabilities for compute-intensive and network-demanding applications.
