AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon EC2 R8gb instances, powered by AWS Graviton4 processors, offering significant performance improvements for compute and storage workloads.
- Up to 30% better compute performance compared to Graviton3 processors
- Up to 150 Gbps of EBS bandwidth
- Instance sizes up to 24xlarge with up to 768 GiB of memory
- Up to 200 Gbps of networking bandwidth
- Supports Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) networking on larger sizes
- Available in US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) regions
These instances are ideal for high-performance databases, NoSQL databases, and workloads requiring scalable compute and storage performance.
