Amazon has introduced detailed performance statistics for Amazon EC2 instance store NVMe volumes on Nitro System-based EC2 instances.

  • Provides real-time visibility into storage performance
  • Offers 11 comprehensive metrics at one-second granularity
  • Monitors I/O statistics including queue length, IOPS, throughput, and latency
  • Includes detailed I/O latency histograms broken down by IO size
  • Available by default across all AWS Commercial and China Regions at no extra cost

The new feature helps users monitor storage health, resolve performance issues, and optimize application I/O patterns with granular performance insights.
