Amazon Lex has introduced generative AI-enhanced natural language understanding for conversational AI bots in eight new languages.
- New languages supported: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Catalan, French, Italian, and German
- Large language models (LLMs) improve bot understanding of complex utterances
- Bots can now handle spelling errors and extract key information more accurately
- Example: Correctly interpreting a request to book flight tickets for four people
- Available in 10 commercial AWS Regions where Amazon Connect is deployed
This enhancement significantly improves the capability of voice and chat bots to understand and process natural language across multiple languages.
