Amazon Lex has expanded its support for built-in slots for confirmation and currency in 10 new languages, enhancing conversational AI capabilities:
- New languages include Portuguese, Catalan, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and Korean
- Confirmation slots can understand various user acknowledgement expressions and convert them to 'Yes', 'No', 'Don't know', or 'Maybe'
- Currency slots can identify and standardize currency inputs (e.g., "1 dollar" resolves to "USD 1.00")
- Feature aims to create more natural and efficient conversational experiences
- Available in all commercial AWS Regions where Amazon Lex operates
This enhancement improves the ability to build more sophisticated and multilingual conversational AI interfaces.
