AWS has announced cross-account ingestion support for Amazon OpenSearch Ingestion, enabling organizations to share data pipelines across different accounts more easily.

  • Allows central observability teams to create and share OpenSearch Ingestion pipelines with other teams
  • Supports push-based sources like HTTP and OpenTelemetry
  • Eliminates previous complex VPC sharing requirements
  • Requires compatible VPC configurations with DNS support enabled
  • Involves creating resource policies and pipeline endpoints across accounts
