Amazon ECS now supports one-click event capture and event history querying in the AWS Management Console

Amazon ECS now offers a simplified event capture and querying feature directly in the AWS Management Console.

  • One-click setup for capturing ECS lifecycle events and task state changes
  • Automatically creates and manages EventBridge rules and CloudWatch log groups
  • Provides an intuitive query interface with pre-built templates and filters
  • Enables retaining data for stopped tasks beyond default limits
  • Available in all AWS Commercial and GovCloud (US) Regions

To enable, navigate to the Cluster details page, click "Turn on event capture", and then use the Event history tab to query and analyze historical events.
