AWS has announced global cross-Region inference for Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4.5 on Amazon Bedrock, enabling organizations to improve AI inference scalability and performance across multiple global Regions.

  • Automatically routes inference requests across multiple AWS Regions to handle traffic bursts
  • Supports over 20 source Regions with dynamic routing to optimal destination Regions
  • Maintains data security and encryption during cross-Region processing
  • Offers approximately 10% cost savings compared to geographic cross-Region inference
  • Provides centralized monitoring through CloudTrail and CloudWatch

The feature allows developers to use a global inference profile ID, simplifying implementation and providing greater flexibility for AI workloads with enhanced performance and reliability.
