Introducing Amazon Bedrock cross-Region inference for Claude Sonnet 4.5 and Haiku 4.5 in Japan and Australia

AWS has announced the availability of Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4.5 and Claude Haiku 4.5 on Amazon Bedrock with cross-Region inference capabilities for Japan and Australia.

  • Cross-Region inference allows processing data within local geographical boundaries
  • Supports routing between Tokyo/Osaka in Japan and Sydney/Melbourne in Australia
  • Uses AWS Global Network with end-to-end encryption for secure data transit
  • Provides geographic-specific inference profiles for local data processing
  • Recommended for sectors handling sensitive data like finance and healthcare

The new feature enables organizations to implement AI applications that meet both performance requirements and local data processing regulations while leveraging advanced AI capabilities.
