AWS has announced the general availability of new compute-optimized Amazon EC2 C8i and C8i-flex instances powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors.
- Offers up to 15% better price-performance compared to previous generations
- 2.5x more memory bandwidth than previous Intel-based instances
- Up to 20% better performance than C7i instances
- Up to 60% faster for NGINX web applications
- Up to 40% faster for AI deep learning recommendation models
Key differentiators include C8i-flex for general compute-intensive workloads and C8i for high-performance computing needs. Available in US East, US West, and Europe (Spain) regions, these instances can be purchased via Savings Plans, On-Demand, and Spot instances.
