AWS has announced enhanced features for Amazon CloudWatch Application Signals, a tool designed to simplify monitoring of large-scale distributed applications.

  • Automatically discovers and groups services based on their relationships
  • Provides an application map with operational signals and health indicators
  • Offers a contextual troubleshooting drawer with metrics, deployment status, and insights
  • Integrates with CloudWatch Investigations, a generative AI-powered assistant
  • Allows custom service grouping and filtering by deployment changes, SLI breaches, or compute platforms

The new features aim to reduce operational maintenance time and provide teams with better visibility into complex application environments, making troubleshooting faster and more efficient.
