Unlocking deeper insights with enhanced monitoring in AWS AppSync

AWS AppSync has introduced Enhanced Monitoring, a new feature that provides deeper insights into API performance and metrics. The key aspects of this enhancement include:
- Resolver-level metrics to track individual resolver performance
- Detailed data source monitoring across different AWS services
- Operational metrics for GraphQL queries and mutations
- 10 new CloudWatch metrics added for more granular monitoring
Enhanced Monitoring can be enabled through the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, or Terraform. It allows developers to:
- Identify performance bottlenecks quickly
- Create custom CloudWatch dashboards
- Take proactive actions to optimize API performance
While there is a small cost associated with additional metrics (approximately $11.10 per month for the example API), the insights gained can significantly improve API reliability and user experience.
