AWS has announced the general availability of new Amazon EC2 M8i and M8i-flex instances powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors.
- Offers up to 15% better price-performance compared to previous generations
- Provides 2.5x more memory bandwidth
- Delivers up to 20% better performance than M7i instances
- Performance gains for specific workloads:
- 30% faster for PostgreSQL databases
- 60% faster for NGINX web applications
- 40% faster for AI deep learning recommendation models
- Available in US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Spain)
- Purchasable via Savings Plans, On-Demand, and Spot instances
The M8i-flex instances are ideal for general-purpose workloads, while M8i instances are best for high CPU usage and large applications.
