Amazon Kinesis Data Streams has launched On-demand Advantage mode, a new feature that enhances streaming data capabilities and offers cost-effective pricing.
- Enables instant throughput increases up to 10GB or 10 million events per second
- Automatically scales capacity based on data usage
- Removes fixed per-stream charges
- Offers 60% lower pricing compared to On-demand Standard
- Provides data ingest at $0.032/GB and data retrieval at $0.016/GB in US East (N. Virginia)
- Decreases extended retention pricing by 77%
- Available in all AWS regions where Kinesis Data Streams operates
The new mode is most cost-effective for users ingesting at least 10MB/s, using multiple consumer applications, or managing hundreds of streams in a region.
