This article announces that Amazon S3 Vectors is now generally available with significantly increased scale and production-grade performance capabilities for storing and querying vector data.
- Store and search up to 2 billion vectors per index, 40x increase from preview
- Query latency reduced to ~100ms for frequent queries, under 1 second for infrequent
- Write performance improved to 1,000 PUT transactions per second
- Retrieve up to 100 search results per query, up from 30
- Fully serverless architecture with pay-as-you-go pricing
- Integrations with Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Base and OpenSearch now GA
- Available in 14 AWS Regions, expanded from 5 during preview
- CloudFormation, PrivateLink, and resource tagging support added
- Pricing based on PUT operations, storage, and query charges
