- New connectors can use both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols simultaneously
- Customers can enable dual-stack via Console, AWS CLI, SDK, or CloudFormation
- Default remains IPv4-only unless explicitly opted-in during creation
- Existing connectors continue using IPv4; deletion/recreation needed for changes
- Available in all AWS Regions where MSK Connect operates at no additional cost
This update helps customers modernize applications for IPv6 environments while maintaining IPv4 compatibility and meeting compliance requirements.
