Amazon EVS now supports VCF and VMware ESX software version selection

This article announces that Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS) now supports specifying VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and ESX software versions when setting up environments and hosts.

  • Specify VCF version when creating new environments using CreateEnvironment API
  • Select ESX version when adding hosts to existing environments using CreateEnvironmentHost API
  • Query supported version combinations with new GetVersions API
  • Support for new VCF 5.2.2 environment deployments
  • Enables faster workload migration to AWS with reduced operational complexity

This enhancement provides version flexibility for Amazon EVS deployments, helping customers meet data center exit deadlines and reduce migration risk.
