AWS announces general availability of Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS)

AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS), a new service that enables running VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) directly within Amazon Virtual Private Cloud.
- Allows running VMware environments on AWS without re-platforming applications
- Provides self-managed or partner-managed VCF infrastructure options
- Offers full administrative access and control over VMware architecture
- Supports flexible consumption models: on-demand, one-year, and three-year options
- Enables license portability for existing VCF licenses
- Currently supports VCF version 5.2.1 on i4i.metal instances
- Available in six AWS Regions, including US East, US West, Asia Pacific, and Europe
Amazon EVS provides customers with a seamless way to migrate, scale, and optimize VMware workloads in the cloud while maintaining familiar software and skills.
