IAM Identity Center now supports IPv6
Security Blog
This article announces IPv6 support for AWS IAM Identity Center, enabling workforce users and administrators to connect using IPv6 without network address translation.
- New dual-stack endpoints support both IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity
- Existing IPv4 endpoints continue functioning with no immediate action required
- Update external identity provider (IdP) configurations with new dual-stack URLs
- Share new dual-stack access portal URLs (ending in app.aws) with workforce users
- Administrators use new service endpoints (ending in api.aws) for management operations
- Monitor endpoint usage via AWS CloudTrail logs to track IPv6 adoption
- Transition can occur at your own pace with flexible phased rollout
IAM Identity Center now provides native IPv6 connectivity, allowing organizations to transition at their own pace while maintaining backward compatibility with existing IPv4 infrastructure.
