This article announces that AWS Compute Optimizer now automatically applies AWS-generated tags to EBS snapshots created during automation.
- Snapshots receive tag aws:compute-optimizer:automation-event-id during creation
- Tag value links snapshot to unique automation event identifier
- Improves visibility and tracking of snapshots from Compute Optimizer automation
- Applies when snapshotting and deleting unattached EBS volumes
- Available in all AWS Regions where Compute Optimizer Automation is available
This enhancement helps users identify, track, and manage automated snapshots for better governance and resource visibility.
